Bc coilovers with 5/4 spring rate
Has anyone got Bc coilovers with a 5/4 spring rate on a newage? And can you tell me how they ride compared to the oem sti suspention.
I'm thinking of putting a set on due to the bouncy ride doing my head in but don't want hard coilovers on the road.
Spoke to bc about a softer 4/3 spring rate but there only available on the classic.

I'v just installed 5/4 weight springs to my 2002 WRX bug wagon, and i have to say i was a little scared they were going to be too harsh for the roads where i live in London.
You do feel the road a bit more, but they are definitely not harsh. They are a big improvement on my old OEM suspension, i use the car as a daily driver and have no complaints.
Mine aren't even set up properly yet! The fitter left the bump settings in the middle, saying that the setting of the bump rates is quite a personal thing. So once i get the time to have a fiddle, they should be even better!
If you are going to use your car on the track, you might want to move up in spring weight, but I've found 5/4 great for a sporty daily driver.

Thanks for your input.
It's only going to be used on a road. I've had coilovers on a Z4 coupe and it ruined it by being way to hard. Don't want to make the same mistake. Anyone got 5/4 on a STi?

I have my BCs on the softest setting with 40 profile 18s, the ride is firm, but not harsh. The handling over lumps and undulations in the road is terrific, the only thing that can feel a bit jarring is small, quick divots (such as small pot holes).
Definately two thumbs up from me, the wife and our 5 month old daughter!

Just to spoil the party, I've have 5/4 springs on a Spec D (Hawkeye STI) for a few years and found them still too firm, but more to the point, was not compliant enough. ie bumps and potholes were uncomfortable with little apparent suspension movement.
I've recently changed back to my original struts with different springs and bump stops from PCA.
First impressions are better than the original setup, ASTs and BCs with more compliance.
Final test will be when I have wifey next to me.
