VF36 Twin scroll turbo with Forge Actuator
This is a twin scroll roller bearing turbo that comes on the Spec C's (not to be confused with the lesser journal bearing VF37 twin scroll turbo). It also has fitted an uprated Forge Actuator (blue spring) which has been slightly modified. This is still on my car and will be removed in approx 4 weeks time so can still be seen working fine before hand for any perspective buyer. I am happy to take them out for a blast in the car! I have had it fitted for 2 years and done 6,000 miles in it and 4 trackdays, before that it was MelTypeR's Spec C and done approx 30,000 miles.
The only thing I am not entirely happy with is that it has a whining sound, which is a bit off putting but has always been present from when I bought it (was told so before buying). It has not affected its performance and is known to occur on many roller bearing turbos. Saying that I did not have hardly any sound on my old Hawkeye Spec C VF36 that had done only 20,000 miles, so it may increase over mileage? Also under hard acceleration you do see a slight puff of smoke out of the exhaust. Therefore a turbo refresh may be required at some point in the future
Below are photos from 2 years ago when mapped by Racedynamix, newer pics will be uploaded once removed from the car. Made 340bhp @ 5,600rpm / 365 ft/lbs @ 3,200 rpm, all at just 1.55 bar peak boost. It holds 1.5 bar from 3,100rpm to 5,000 / 1.4 bar to 6,000rpm / 1.3bar to 7,000rpm. Dyno plot to follow once Iv dug it out tmrw.
