Default Standard OEM Blob STI Headers

Anyone interested in a set of standard OEM blob sti headers. These are in good condition having been removed to uprgade to a set of ported headers.

The headers come with the original heat shield and studs. I suppose they could bought for someone wanting to attempt porting themselves to increase gas flow. If porting turns out to be successful then its a great inexpensive upgrade to have.

Make me an offer plus postage costs.

£11.60 to be exact. They'll be more useful to Harvey then to me.

It wasn't Pointless it was perfectly valid and my point of view ,
so what if I think Harvey's offer to you was a joke he might as well tarmaced your drive too.
But as you said previously they were of no use to you and yours to do as you feel fit.

Marty : What have you been smoking? I don't tarmac drives
Just what is your problem?
Upwards of 20 emails and PMs have passed between Chet and myself over the last two months probably, when I think about it there must be more than that, plus numerous photographs and so on. He is running a set of my ported headers and matched uppipe which he was able to buy secondhand. Chet had a set of headers that were no use to him and asked me what I thought they were worth and I told him he would be lucky to get £25. I saw a set for sale on e-Bay last week for £20 that never even got a bid. Anyway, Chet advertised them for sale and I said I would stand on them at £25.00. This gave him the opportunity to profit if my judgement was wrong or someone actually wanted a set but as nobody was interested I have now sent him £25.00.
Now if you are aggrieved that I have got a set of headers for £25 I will let you have them for what I paid for them, just tell me when you are coming to collect them or where you want them posted to. Payment via Paypal please. Postage at cost.
What do you think they are worth?
I can get you numerous sets if you want them, same price, just state model and year.
So at the end of the day I have done Chet a favour, OK? I don't really need them which is why I am happy to pass them on to you at cost.

Now you seem to have some sort of beef so I will take this opportunity to put you in touch with some facts. I have been porting Subaru headers for about 12 years and headers for other marques prior to that. This includes large marine engines but the theory is the same, large or small, and something I am trained in. My porting specifically for Subarus has been developed over these 12 years with the use of flow bench equipment and it is interesting that what you think might work in fact does not translate into a gain. Some people think that you just have to open out the diameter but these are the sort of people that can port headers for not a lot of money without actually knowing what they are doing and don't even know what a flow bench looks like, never mind CFD which is a subject on its own.
Now when I take a set of headers they are examined. Some headers that have already been "ported" end up in the scrap bin because of what has already been done to them. The lugs are then cut off, the headers ported to an exact prescribed method and dimensions taking into account their intended purpose. Finally they are DEI heat wrapped and ready for use.
Now when I started porting Subaru headers I also ported the uppipe but after some time, with the use of flow bench equipment I was very surprised to find that the OE uppipe was actually a problem area. I then tried several aftermarket uppipes but ended up perfecting my own design of slip jointed uppipe for use with my ported headers. There are actually 6 permutations of uppipe to my design and I sub contract the manufacture of these to a specialist as you well know but these are my products and my design. All this is well known to Jonny Gav who can confirm the above to you.
The uppipes are sold, DEI heat wrapped with five new Subaru studs and all the uppipes are slip jointed.
Done properly there is probably 3/4 of a day just to do one header set. This is not a lick round the port lip with a Dremel
Now as a result of the success with porting the OE header sets I developed a 3 bolt uppipe for use with GT2 Spec type tubular header sets and these were christened "Trick" uppipes by Olly Clark of Roger Clark Motorsport and these "Trick" uppipes are supplied to numerous supply houses and end users of the tubular GT2 Spec header set which I also supply and send as far afield as Australia, the US, Canada, Finland, Madeira, all over Europe, Solvenia, Greece, Turkey etc. You get the picture .
Following on from the Trick 3 bolt uppipe I realised there were large bore tubular header sets such as the original GT ie. GT1, Spec, Gruppe "S" etc. with 2 bolt flange and approximately 60mm outlet from the collector. I therefore developed the "Trick" 2 bolt uppipe for this application to give end users the benefit of improved spool and greater torque across the rev range. The other advantage is that with a slip joint stress on the header set is reduced during the constant thermal cycling so there is less possibility of the headers splitting at the weld or blowing gaskets which is a particular problem on the 2 bolt header set with the solid tubular uppipe.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity to clear up these matters.
Do let me know what arrangements you want to make for the set I got from Chet and how many more sets you need.
