I believe you will need a mounting brackets for the rears as well as larger handbrake shoes and maybe different rear hubs depending on what classic you have. The front however will go straight on.

I thought that but the set that was on ebay not long ago implied that these "prodrive STI " brakes where different from the norm and the seller mentioned that the front might fit but doubted very much the rear calipers would physically fit on a classic

thanks martin you answered the question for me...
the main reason these won't fit a classic is because their the newer 114mm pcd disc's other than that its the same mod's required to fit gold brembo's on a classic

I sure the black rears aren't a straight bracket fit on a classic, like the gold ones. Godspeed done a thread on them, he had to machine the calipers themselves to fit as they have a slight difference. Also, I'm sure he could only get them to fit with the newage WRX disc's.

if there's any interest in spliting the set then its
£550+p/p for the fronts
£250+p/p for the rears

You are spot on mate,I have them on the back of my classic with 300mm discs not the 316's as standard.
Mind I got these's already converted as I found out it costs a bomb
Although when compared to the gold one's I feel the later black one's have a nicer shape

I've got them fitted to my 2000 x reg classic the front are a straight fit the rear need bug 290 mm discs and about 8 mm machining off the mounting brackets and they fit to the original mounting holes and original h/ brake shoes, it's a quite easy mod
