is this turbo i direct replacement for the Classic?
I have a 99 reg UK 2000 classic, would this be a good upgrade?
My car is going into to be remapped friday so it might be a good idea to replace the turbo at the same time

The VF35 is a great and common upgrade for that year classic, and its a straight bolt on. Yours will have 440cc injectors, and this turbo on 440'c will see you about 320bhp. Turbo is good for about 340/350. But your injectors will limit you to about 320.

You will need a remap at the very least - And to get the best out of it you could ideally do with the pink injectors and a free flowing exhaust. The turbo itself with supporting mods is good for around 350bhp.

Yes straight fit - BHP would largely depend on your exhaust. Does it still have cats and Cat is uppipe ?
With a decatted exhaust you would probably see around 340bhp. And about 30bhp less with cats at guess.
Plenty of folk have done the conversion so probably worth having a search on the forum.

Ok really interested then...
Can you just confirm its safe to simply install the turbo and the pinks then a remap? with nothing else being installed? I know the walbro is needed but already have that. Is there anything else I NEED to do it all right, Its not a necessity that the cats are removed is it?
dont want to strain the car or anything if you get me, not long had my subaru so bit of a n00b sorry

Hi Rob. The VF35 is very interesting as I believe it'd be a bolt on to my Hawk WRX Wagon. As you know everyone has a different opinion on mods but I am reading that the stock TMIC and injectors are man enough, meaning just the trusty Walbro, decat & custom map. I would guess I'd get up to about 330 on that setup. Anything else I'm missing...? My only other worry is buying an unproven turbo; sorry to sound over-cautious but I am just one of those people. I see you have made a squillion posts so you are obviously legit. Have you seen it working?

This turbo was bought from Darren@JDM who are one of the scooby breakers in this forum only a couple of weeks or so back for more than I am selling it for. It only been taken out of the box it came in to inspect it, and been placed back up for sale because I have taken a different direction with cars.
To get into 330bhp you will need pink injectors, or you might get there with a fuel pressure regulator running high pressure.
