You might need to drop your price tag a bit since Si2000 is trying to sell his newely built 2,1 SCD for 3 k for some time now.

Si 2000 is selling an open-deck 2.1 for £3k, this is for a fully forged closed-deck

Not comparable really

Did you install Lateral's uprated rods? What size head studs are used?

The kit was supplied by Lateral as per there website, the machining on the CDB was carried out via Lateral and the heads were reworked and the whole engine was put together by Phil Cotton, better known as Phil Classic, http://philclassic.co.uk/

If you need any more info pm.

Tbho given a forged ODB is good for 500-550 it would be more then siffice for most builds so I'm with the asking price being a little to high imo.

Yeah, i'm sure an ODB would be fine for a short while at 550 , just a matter of when (rather than if) it'll go bang though!

This is the trouble with S'net John, too many people who don't know s**t from clay

Get your nose out of his **** mate, there are plenty out there running completely unforged engines at 450-500 without trouble but a forged odb wouldn't handle it

PM sent John, but i'd have to say this is pretty unspecific unless you provide a link to lateral's spec list. Would lateral honour any warranty with a third party?

Read your pm, why on earth would I want to break this engine, it was built fresh last year by Phil and Keith (if people did there research they would know who they are), so to answer your pm, no the engine will not be split, I will inhibet it and keep it as a spare if it does not sell, it`s offered at a very good price for what is a high spec engine.

Ref, Lateral`s warranty that is not for me to comment on, but I will say is when you build any high performance units you only get what you pay for, Lateral do a lot of development and testing before they release any thing to the public, so I have no proplem in using any parts that come from Lateral or any third party who has used them.

John

Very good price, Lateral internals have been proven by many people running serious power.

This forum should be rebranded SCOOBYNUTS, if people spent the time to cost all the parts need to build a 2.1 long engine thats good enough to put in this car.

and then compete at w/e`s instead of cruising the streets and giving performance car owners a bad name.

And only then would they understand why this engine is priced as it is.

Rant over, all pm`s & e-mails answered.

John
