Default EJ20T UK engine API re-build. Breaking for Spares

Hi,
There is a bit of a story to this, so please bear with me.
This post/for sale relates to a EJ20T fitted to a 1998 UK Classic Turbo Impreza.
This engine was fully re-built by API Leamington-Spa in late Sept 2009 at a cost of £2472.50 - paperwork/reciepts to prove.
It covered little mileage, approx. 75-100 miles per week until Oct 2010 when the car was involed in a serious accident (with a HGV) resulting in the car being written off.

The usual wrangling/arguing with the insurance comapny began.
This meant that the car wasnt broken for spares until earlier this year.
Since removing the engine I noticed that the damaged bodywork has touched/broken the O/S/F cambelt cover.

What with other projects time has been scarce and I have only recently dug this engine from under the bench.

As I couldnt see the engine running after the accident and the belt cover damage I was reluctant to sell the engine as running/good condition.
So I leak tested the engine (via the spark plug holes) this week end & found that the N/S rear cylinder does not hold good pressure/compression. I am assuming that broken parts of the cover have either knocked the cam timing out on just that cylinder to have jumped the belt enough to have bent a/some valves. I would assume the exhaust timing/valves are the issue as you can hear the air coming out the turbo.

So the engine is being offered complete (i.e Turbo,F/wheel & clutch,Intercooler,Starter motor, alternator etc) as spares/repairs
Or I can strip and sell parts (Turbo,Heads,Block, Crank & Pistons) seperately.

If interested PM me with your requirements,Can post any smaller items, Collection welcome from the Midlands, B97 postcode. Thanks.

Hi,
Pretty sure all the internals are standard. The guy from API commented that it was a nice change to do a "standard uk build" . The crank was shot & we were told that they arent suitable for re-grind, so am presuming its got a new crank in. Standard Turbo on it too.
Thanks

Hi,
Im mindfull that it its current state its worth less than a "runner" , but from an (new) internals/parts view its value is fairly good.
Im open to sensible offers on it.
Please remember that it is collection.
Thanks
