For sale - Metal Lathe - Guildford
I bought this lathe last year with the intention of learning how to use it and making various bits. But then a baby came along and I have no free time at all, or money to buy a generator (see below). Realistically I'm never going to use it and it's just taking up too much space in the garage so it would be better used by someone else.
I don't know much about lathes so I'll describe it as best I can.
It's got a 6 inch 3 jaw chuck, comes in two parts (lathe bed and stand), has a 1.2kw single phase motor and it's approximate dimensions are 1450 x 800 x 1250mm (length x width x height) and the bed is around 1100mm.
It's in need of a clean but it's in full working order as far as I can tell. The drive belt needs a new pin to be re-fitted.
I have some photos which I can send interested people. I'd recommend coming to have a look at it if you are serious about buying it.
The lathe is sitting in a lock-up garage with no power, so you'll need to bring a generator capable of supplying the motor starting current if you want to switch it on.
£250 ono.
Buyer must collect (Guildford) and you will need a couple of strong friends and some ramps to get into a van, the bed and stand are currently not bolted together and can be separated but even so the whole thing must weigh well in excess of 250kg. It will fit in a transit van but probably not a small (e.g. escort, berlingo) van.
