Default RB320 #203 up for sale on 26th April - £17.5k - SOLD..

My RB which i've owned from NEW, will be for sale on... 26th April 2013...!

Now on Pistonheads - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...-rb320/1313325

As a taster, it will be sold with a newly built forged engine by Paul Finch 'FinchMotorsport';
ACL race bearings, Mahle forged pistons with bores honed, pinned liners, oil pump PRV modification, all valves & seats re-cut, Cosworth stopper gaskets, ARP high tensile head studs, AP Racing Organic clutch with AP Racing clutch release bearing, skimmed OE flywheel. Also a new set of NGK 7 spark plugs have been fitted, when the build was done.

Still running the OE compression ratio, thus on the original Prodrive MAP & 320ps. Just safe for a re-map & bolt on ancillaries for up to 450 BHP if you want!
Hence, absolutely no concerns over Head Gaskets or Piston Ringland failures!!!

Pics of the build in progress:

The front end will be getting a fresh re-spray, including; bumper, wings & bonnet. This is only due to some minor 'road-rash' as it's my daily driver.
It will also be getting a complete paint detail!

I took the following dealer options;
Leather & Alcantara RB320 branded seats,
Limo tints on the rear 3 windows,
Rear parking sensors,
Prodrive mud flaps,

#203 also benefits from the following modifications;
Black interior carpet, the OE carpet in the RB320 is blue & the black carpet suits the car a lot better & should have been standard fit!
Perrin Anti Lift Kit, OE kit will be with the RB when sold.
Perrin font & rear solid alloy drop links, OE drop links will be with the RB when sold.
Blitz Nur Spec R CAT back,
Genuine STi carbon alloy front strut brace,
The OE Brembo brakes have also benefit from recently fitted Performance Friction 2 piece floating discs & Performance Friction Z rated pads all round. This is probably the best brake upgrade you can do, whilst retaining the OE Brembo callipers.
Genuine Subaru side visors,
Kenwood touch screen head-unit with remote control & iPod/iPhone interface,
Prodrive oil filler cap & battery strap in anthracite, OE parts will be with the RB when sold,
HEL stainless steel braided lines, with red outer line covers,
Cosworth panel filter,
I am also currently running newly fitted, Yokohama AD08 tyres.

Black interior carpet fitted, replacing the OE STi blue..Much better suited to the black RB!!

A few standard RB's have gone on the site recently for £15.5k to £16.5k.
Think i'll be asking £17.5k

Can vouch for this car, and the man in question, she's an absolute peach!!
To my surprise on an SWS run we had a good few months ago, i was leading the run and iggy was on my **** pretty much all the time, when on other occasions I've had similar powered sti's behind me and left them for dust. My classic is running circa 330.
Wish I had the wonga to have this, it would look lovely on my drive.

Not a problem, wasn't a bad one at all, the weather being kind to us certainly helPed make it that little bit better (up until the a4069 blacks anyway)!

Keep your eye in the Wales section next month, will be aiming to organising another May time. In the meantime get them videos you recorded up on here (Solong as my drivings not too embarrassing that is!) ;-p

Gorgeous that mate. Would love this.

Would you swap for a 2005 Blob Sti and a packet of Smarties?

I've just bought some RB320 Shocks and Springs to go on mine, can't wait to get them fitted. Do these cars handle well in the corners? What do they have above and beyond the standard STi (beside the shocks/springs)?

Lol..... I don't like smarties

They handle extremely well, very flat though the corner & with the correct GEO set-up, much understeer!
Yes.. over a standard STi, they are 30mm lower at the rear, 10mm lower at the front.
They also have adjustable rear ARB.

Ok, well i've never been in this situation before...selling my 1st car private!
Even though i'm holding a deposit in excess of £10k, the buyer coming from a Nissan GTR R35 isn't sure if a Scooby is for them.

So, even though the car is faultless & the prospective buyer couldn't find fault, with the car or test drive, they don't want to commit to the buy as yet....
Hence they are aware & know the risk (while deciding what to do) that it might sell, so it's on the market for sale & their deposit will be returned should it.

Further to the below advert, the front end respray has been completed (thanks Ryan, aka Prodriverules), with an all over machine polish & detail.
Also, I fitted a new front splitter, due to a couple of the fixing points being broken after hitting a piece of ice in the snow we had last. Which isn't too bad, considering it was the OE splitter & had been fitted for almost 6 years!!

The forged build is fully run in, where it went back to Paul Finch for its first oil & filter change after 1000 miles.
I put in Milers CFS 10w 40 & a filter which he trusts supplied by Paul.

Can't believe this has not sold Iain, stunning car, I even had a prolonged conversation with your buyer, over the engine etc, don't think he will find a better one at the price.

Bloody hell what a strange scenario! He'll miss out on a very nice well specced car if he drops out, and someone else will have the pleasure for sure! I suppose any car though would have to be pretty special to fill a gtr's shoes, so its understandable.
Either way whatever happens I can't see it hanging about long.

You got a deposit of £10k and now the guy is not sure the car is what he wants!!!!

To be honest the right thing is to return the deposit, But it a bit bad on you that its messing you about as you thought the car was sold!!! Maybe he should give you a good will gesture of a couple of hundred quid!!

Hi i feel it is only right that i explain the reason behind my decision to not follow through with the purchase of Iggy's RB320. Firstly may i say that the car is really a lovely example and drove beautifully a real credit to the owner who has fastidiously maintained the vehicle from new.
I am just in a weird place with regards my car choice having sold the GTR i was thinking of what to replace with and after over 16 years of owning performance cars wanted to buy a turbo charged car with great handling pedigree so the RB 320 ticked the boxes. I was very pleased to find such a great example with Iggy's and without seeing the vehicle commited a large sum to purchase. I have always put my car purchases on an emotive decision as opposed to a logical one and when i got to the moment of collection i had a doubt in my mind based on the costs of running these high performance vehicles and the new responsibilities i have in my life ( my first child was born 4 months ago) I did not expect this feeling and have wrestled with it but despite wanting to own the RB320 i need to just accept a little run around in the form of a golf is the sensible option right now. It is a great shame for me to have to walk away from the deal and somone will have a fabulous example of a great car to enjoy. Once again sorry Iggy for the inconvenience and good luck with the sale . Gavin

If only that 1 wasn't at the front of the price tag

Iggy, thank you for the info RE the suspension, my shocks are to be sent off to Bilstein this week, can't wait to get them on.

Very best of luck with the sale, shame it didn't go through first time for you, but I can understand where Gavin is coming from.

Gavin, congrats with the new born, just save a few £ and get a Spec C Blob ......... You'll have the Golf. Just saying.
