Default 1996 silver facelift JDM wagon £650

1996 silver facelift JDM wagon £650

105000miles

Imported in 1997 with 60000miles, owned by me since then. JUMVEA certificate proving Japanese mileage.

October 1996 build, P reg. 9 months MOT, tax due August.

Drives very well, same as when I bought it. Run on V-power, oil is Gulf Competition. I don’t drive it hard.

Had cambelt at about 70000, exedy clutch at 85000, radiator somewhere in there, and new rear struts last year.

Standard except for 4-pot front calipers, Nardi steering wheel (very good nick) and gear ****. Electric mirrors. Cat 1 security system with interior motion sensors.

Body good. No rust. 2 small dings on roof, probably due to a falling branch one windy night. These didn’t penetrate the paint. Has black trim on all skirts including front, which I’ve not seen on any other car, and looks good.

Like all of the first facelift models it has developed piston slap which disappears when warmed. Burns no oil, does not affect performance nor will it limit the life of the car, as posts on this forum will confirm.

Still has Japanese stereo. I have a Sony CD player which will play mp3s on disc which I never got around to installing. You can have that.
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/CDX-S2200

Standard 5 spoke 16in gold wheels in excellent condition. Tyres all have >50% tread.

I have a spare straight centre section exhaust and an aftermarket backbox if you want a louder sound. Probably worth £100 for both but you can have them free if you like.

It needs its knock sensor replaced – I have the spare. You can do this yourself or I can have this replaced for whatever the mechanics charge for the labour. It’s a small job.

I’ll post some pics soon as I’m able but they won’t tell you much more than this.

Car is in Lancaster.

If not sale I'll have to sell it to a breakers. Can't do it myself. No space.

Bought a MY2000, which is why I'm selling this one. MY97 torquier down low, has a Gemel SerpiStar keyless entry system (same as BMWs) which is far better than the stupid Cobra one I'm battling with now, and the interior is better quality. And the clutch is miles better.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

cheers all, thanks for the positive comments.

I paid (a bit over the odds) 4400 in 2007, just before the stuff hit the fan. Enjoyed every moment of the next 5 years in it, so much so that its replacement, a MY2000, looks almost identical.

Nice to have shown you a little of the Trough of Bowland, once described by a Scoobynet member as his own personal track day.
