Yeah, that's a bloody good idea. 'Cos when you hit someone and total your car and theirs, your insurance will pay up no problems.

not my fault DVLA registered the car wrong when it was imported

It still doesn't make your car a GL. What the DVLA have on their database will not stand for **** when you get hauled up in court and given several points/big fine for not having legitimate insurance. It's upto the owner to ensure that the car is insured for what it actually is and not the random crap the DVLA have on their system.

When my V5 came with my car listed as a 'GL', I sent it back to get it changed to 'WRX'. It annoys me that people knowingly defraud insurance companies like this and even try to make this a plus point when selling!

The majority of the cheap Import Imprezas for sale now have this included in their ad as a "benefit".

I can only hope that these idiot sellers and buyers write off these cars in one vehicle accidents, or cannot afford to keep them running, so that we are quickly rid of the situation.
