SOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSO LDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLD SOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSO LDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLD SOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSO LDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLD
Hi all,
here is my story, basically i have had enough and its time to sell.
some one could either break up and make money or repair.
I got the scoobe a few years ago by swopeing it with my clio V6 which had rear end damage, since ive owned it ive spent so much money on i just cant be asked any more, it has the following mods,
front mounted interccooler £480
vf 23 turbo £600
3 inch exhaust from turbo to back with no restrictions £500
dash 6 fuel lines £300
parrell fuel feed / upgraged fuel rails £120
fuel pressure reg £70
440 cc yellow injectors £280
walbro high flow petrol pump £120
heat spacers betwwen the block and the inlet manifold £30
induction kit £70
simtek ecu (which has been mapped twice by Jolly green monster) £1200
antilag £ 120
bucket subaru blue seats £500
apexi electronic boost controller (but not controlling boost as jgm sayed its better to let the ecu controll it) £300
five spoke alloys £400
new bushes and bearings, (fitted two months ago, only done 50 miles) £300
yellow stuff brake pads £160
four potted subaru calipers £150
Its also had an engine rebuild with forged pistons, work carried out by extrem scoobies in borham,(£2800)
Theres is probably more mods i just cant think,
Now the bad bits, After the engine rebuild i had an oil leak from the left cam seal and after some hard driving i went into my house to my horror i see flames coming from my bonnett, i quickly put the flames out and the only damage cause was the cam belt and the casing.
My mechanic replaced all the pulleys and tensioners and the casing, i then run for a month and then had the bushes and bearings done, then the car sat up for a while.
Two months ago i had simon from jgm come to my house a do another mapp, He estimated 350 BHP, the car was wheel spinning across the road all the way up to 70mph, (it was raining at the time)
That night i was showing off to my friends spiting flames from the back using the anti lag and the rev limiter when it started making a strange noise, once again ive ****ed it. I showed it to my mechanic who tells me its the valve train.
i cant be asked to repair,
make me an offer,£3000 would be nice tho

I really don't want to break up, haven't got the time or tools ect, I thought some one would snap this up as they could break it and earn at least 5 grand but there are some really nice cheap cars on here so I don't know what to do?
I have an x5 I am trying to sell aswell and I need another 3000 so I can get a 2006 hawk eye, will swop both with some one if there interested ?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it isn't worth £3k to break it because there's barely £3k in parts
I've quickly totted up the figures of what stuff will sell for from your list above and I think you would struggle to get £3k back You really are best breaking it yourself because you'll get peanuts selling it whole

Hey man - Like paulo P says its worth more in parts than as a whole, but even in parts its not worth anywhere near £3K. To be honest, I think (and this is just my opinion) its worth around £1500-2000 as it is.
The main problem is that the best bit about the car (The forged engine) is the component with the problem. I may just be the top end thats FUBAR'd, but it could be something more catastrophic - which would mean essentially its just a 14yrs old WRX with a few trick bits on it that needs a new engine.
If I were you, I'd rip the interior out, take off the Simtek and AVCR and replace it with a OEM interior (£100) and ECU (£50) and then sell these bits alone, as you should see about £1k back for them and then sell the car seperately.... Its just an idea - Yes its a pain in the ***, but it may make it easier to sell at a lower price.
If you're wanting to sell it as is then you will have to think about drastically lowering the price I'm afraid....
Sorry for the bad news buddy! I've unfortunetly been in your shoes and had to take a massive hit after a previous scoob of mine, that I'd ploughed ££££'s into went belly up, so I know how you feel!
Just for info though, whats the bodywork like under the graphics?
Hope it sells though buddy!

Mate stick with it whilst selling the X5. I had the same motor (4.6ltr) in estorial blue with LPG fitted and it took months to sell, but I got 10k for it, so 9k isn't unrealistic.... Just have to wait it out buddy.
With fuel and insurance as high as it is, it's a pain to sell, but someone will eventually come along
Shame your not looking for a black blobeye rather than hawkeye, as I'll be selling mine in the next few weeks and would be interested in a project
