Default subaru imprezA WRX 2003 BLOWN ENGINE

Hi i am posting this add on behalf of my friend

2003 blob eye blue subaru impreza wrx 2.0 turbo. he originally bought the car from an auction couple of weeks ago for 6,500.The car has 1 owner from new, the car was running fine, i had a full service and after driving it around for 50miles after the service then a funny noise was coming from the engine. its quiet loud. Not sure what it is but im willing to get rid of it iv been told its going to be need a new block, overall the car body work is mint.

Who did the service mate? Im not totally sure but if you having a strange noise after a service i recon the bottom end has gone, Is there a knocking noise?

Hi yes their is a knocking noise,service was done by my mate him self.

Yup thats the bottom end gone, It will either be the fact he didn't fill the filter with oil or didn't remove the sensor and turn the engine over,

6.500 for a 03 wrx ???? that was a good price !!!! (for the seller)

£3200? He will be lucky to get £2,500 for that.

New engine is going to cost £1300 plus fitted.

Couldn't think of anything worse. Best of luck selling it for him.

yes thats reason why he's loosing over 3000 on the car. Buying the car for about 3000 plus engine which will cost about 1500. Thats 4500.. Cheap for a good car dont u think..

If thats the case put an engine in it yourself......A rebuilt engine including labour will cost more than 1500 fella, unless you buy an unknown secondhand unit but then you could be in the same problem you are now.

Why would i want to put an engine in?? Makes no sense. yes i understand Rebuilding is much more money, but u wer the one who is talking about a second hand engine not me.
