i know its not a scoob but i thought i would give her a go on here first.i bought this as a standered car many moons ago before i got into scoobs.i owned it for 3 years and in that time i had the engine reconditioned, ported cylinder head, fitted a kent cam with vernier pulley, new hybrid turbo, full stainless exhaust, superchipped ecu, pace intercooler etc which took the power to 213bhp which back then was a quick car.to keep it on the road i fitted koni adjustable shocks and to stop it i fitted cosworth front brakes and converted the rears to cosworth discs too.it was then sold to a friend of mine who has kept it in exeptional condition since.the car has been stored for the past couple of years so has been sorn off the road but if sold will have a full mot with it.i bought this back thinking i might use it for showing but ongoing spending on the scoob means its going to have to go.its in exellent condition, the seats are unmarked, has every mot ticket from new,a folder full of receipts, fsh, even has the original bill of sale when bought new from ford.it has around 125.000 on the clock but theres not much on it that hasnt been renewed.looking for offers around £3,250.

seems like we all started with the fords and progressed to the scoobs.i would really like to keep this and maybe take it to some shows next summer, but with the way i spend money on my scoob i just carnt justify having it sat in the garage.

if you can get £3,250 for your body then let me know.
i had s2 in mercury grey, mine was 80 spec with 90 spec front bumper and spoiler. loved every minute of it!! the thumbs up from the older generation as you drive through the town on a friday/saturday night was ace. shame i got rid really but its what brought me to the scoobs.
if i could justify having it sat in my garage i'd have it big arf
been offered a red fessi turbo for 600 the other day what keeps playing on my mind.good luck with the sale matey.. she'll sell in no time at that price with the service history..
wayne.
I've had a few S1's in my time but never a S2. Great cars and great fun.
With your modifications im sure 212bhp is very' safe, with scope for more if the new owners wishes. I was just pushing over this with one of mine which in a front wheel drive car of the times was very amuzing.

Thats awesome Arf, what a great buy for someone.
Credit to yourself and the other owner(s).
PS
Just noticed the £8.51 fuel, that wouldnt get you anywhere now, but in them days it was 4.5 gallon @ 40p per litre

lovely looking car mate.the 2.1zvh was going to be my next step, but i decided to go with the scoobs as they were 4 wheel drive mainly.i had owned2 S2 escorts and 1 fiesta turbo, but the main problem with them was getting the power down, even with the power mine was running it would spin up in second gear so god knows what yours was like with the 2.1 engine.

I do like the S1 but then I would after owning two myself. I have never had a S2 like Arf's, I think this is becuase secretly I always wanted a MK1 or MK2 RS but could never afford it with my salary after just leaving college. I always wondered why they made the RS Turbo FWD.... I never got round to reading up on this, but I suppose this is due to the Rally classes?
I recall the first one was pushing around 165bhp on a standard setup when I bought, I took it for a RR day and was amazed the power it was pushing until the turbo seized. Turned out it was puposely bleeding boost from one vac pipe with several purpose made holes lol. I swapped the turbo for the S2 as these were water cooler and shortly afterwards it neded up on its roof.... not a very good day for me at 19!!!
I bought another one very cheap as it needed work and donored my scrap one. I kept the number plate though, and with my name being Rob Day it works a treat, you may have seen it at shows etc as I use to take it to trade days.. Reg: R5 DAY
