Default 2006 Legacy Tuned by STI - Blue Auto Estate BP5

PRICE REDUCED AS SALE NEEDED SOON - £9,000!

Afternoon all,

Unfortunately I am putting the TbSTI up for sale . Work circumstances mean it is going to be financially silly for me to run her as a daily. The car is live on UKLegacy complete with pictures as well as Autotrader - again - complete with pictures.

Subaru Legacy BP5 Estate – Tuned by STI (Colour 35J – Regal Blue Pearl)

EJ20X 2.0ltr Twinscroll Engine, E-5AT automatic transmission (Paddle Shift) with SI Drive mode select

Built – 28/07/2006

Mileage - 89k (this will go up as it is a daily) convertor chip is in place and shows in miles.

Imported to UK – 01/05/2018 (same owner until myself, only completed 20k miles in UK in 3 years)

MOT until – 04/07/2022

Road Tax is at the import rate.

I have the CarVX report for the vehicle showing it has a clean history and was a grade 4B at auction prior to export to the UK.

I have the BIMTA cert and it has partial service history from Japan which I have loaded into a spreadsheet to show if any prospective buyer is interested. The car was undersealed on entry to the UK and the undersea is holding up well, I can't spot any rust underneath however I welcome inspections.

According to LegacyPic in 2006 there were only 272 TbSTI's manufactured, this car was number 17 of that year.

I know most members will know this however I'll include anyways. TbSTI’s came with the following specification over the standard Spec-B
  • Bilstein STi tuned suspension (STi Pink Suspension) including pillow ball rear links
  • Front and rear STi tower bars (strut braces)
  • 18" STi wheels
  • STi rear spoiler
  • Brembo brake package with braided hoses
  • Exclusive STi Stitched logo Leather/Alcantara seating with red stitching
  • STi electro-luminescent gauge pack with 260K speedometer
  • STi badging
  • STi dual tip twin exhausts
Eagle eyed viewers will note my car has standard Spec-B Wheels and is missing the front splitter (due to a dead deer). I have STI centre caps for the wheels I just haven't put them on yet. I actually prefer having the splitter off, it can be an absolute pain however I understand it is a 'total picture' part if that makes sense and aesthetically it looks lovely.

In my care I have made the following tasteful modifications;
  • Momo steering wheel retrimmed in black Alcantara with STi red stitching
  • Auto gear gaiter and handbrake cover retrimmed in black Alcantara with STi red stitching
  • Remap completed by famous Subaru tuner – Andy Forrest Performance (not dyno’d but estimated 300bhp safe)
  • Dashboard flocked (the full thing was cracked and ripped so it was repaired and flocked) and I removed all the old useless Japanese tech wiring, repairing the holes they left. Removing the dash was not a fun job.
  • Kenwood DX-7200 double DIN DAB stereo added. The Japanese owner installed MB Quartz speakers and tweeters complete with a JBL amp hidden in the boot. Even though they are quite old, they sound lovely.
I have also completed the following maintenance;
  • ATF Fluid changed by Subaru
  • Fluids for both Diff’s changed by Subaru
  • Power Steering fluid changed by myself
  • Air Con Filter Changed by myself
  • Hunter wheel alignment and camber set to STi specifications by MB Jarvie Glasgow
  • Replaced rear TbSTI badge as the original was missing
The vehicle is due a timing belt and water pump in April 2022. However an inspection of the belt has shown it is still in great condition, it hasn't covered that many miles.

I acquired the vehicle in July 2021, when I collected the vehicle the dealer refurbed all four Enkei wheels, replaced the battery, replaced front N/S suspension bush and serviced the vehicle. The next service is due 07/07/2022.

Discs/pads were all done in July 2018 and have plenty of life in them, tyres were done 30/07/2018 and all of them still have 5mm on them (Kumhos).

Paint is very good, as is the condition of the interior. The car has been stage 1 polished and sealed with Collinite. This will need done again, which I would do before any transaction takes place. Interior has the optional deep pile mats which are rare and seats are in brilliant condition. The vehicle also has a CUSCO rear brace in it which was added by the Japanese owner.

I believe in being totally honest so these are the points I would mention that may need attention;
  • The front Brembo’s squeak, think they are missing their squeal pads (£30 from Import Car Parts, just haven’t got round to doing it) they could also use a re-lacquering, not mechanically vital, just an observation.
  • The front speakers have been upgraded by the Japanese owner to expensive MB Quartz and as such it has custom speaker pods, these have come loose and need replaced/refixed. I have been quoted £200 to replace both by an independent audio specialist in Glasgow. Alternately if you are creative these could be easily repaired I reckon.
  • The car pulls slightly to the left
  • The vehicle only has one key (£80 replacement from Subaru replacement key services Glasgow)
I’ll have another walk round the car and see if anything else I can spot but I think that’s it. It still has its alcantara log book, lots of receipts and stickers from Japan.

If anyone has any questions and wants to see some pictures just PM me and I can send them over to you. The weather in Scotland is terrible at the moment so they will be older pictures.

I have now reduced the price to £9,000 as I am returning to the office soon and need a car with better MPR. I think this price is reasonable considering the work etc I have completed, plus I understand it is missing some original TbSTI parts. Happy to discuss and thanks for reading. I'll be sorry to see her go.

Would you be interested in a 2011 61 BMW E93 320D M Sport plus edition hard top convertible with 98k mikes and full service history and £1000?

Morning mate, sorry I wouldn't. I'll need another estate diesel so the money gained from sale will be going to purchase that. Thank you for the interest though.

No worries, I’ll get it up for sale and see if it gets gone fast enough.

Final bump for this week before sticking her on Autotrader/eBay. Would rather her go to an enthusiast, £9,500.

I can't post pictures of her on here but there are some on UKLEGACY if you go to the for sale section. Or I can email people if they PM me. Cheers.
