2006 JDM Subaru Legacy Blitzen Auto estate
2006 JDM Subaru Legacy Blitzen Auto estate for sale. 183,000 Kms or 114,000 Miles (this will increase as it’s still use). In black. £4499
Based on the 2.0 twin scroll turbo GTB, the Blitzen has bespoke 18” alloy wheels, leather seats, kick plates, a bespoke body kit, Blitzen branded mats and improvements to the underbody air flow to reduce drag and wind noise.
It does still have the usual JDM/GTB refinements: Bilstein suspension, AVCS heads, sweeping clocks, HID headlights, electric folding mirrors, reclining rear seats, heated front seats, Mcintosh stereo with 6 cd capacity, amplifier and 11 speaker system etc. the Mcintosh system includes a mini disc player and a few mini discs will be included with the car!
The car also has some Japanese aftermarket extras, such as a roof mounted TV, LED footwell lights, Subaru wind deflectors and boot liner and even an ETC box (used for the Japanese toll roads).
The Japanese satnav was very confused with being in the UK, so has been swapped for a much more useful Kenwood single DIN system that comes with DAB and Bluetooth for phone/music/satnav. This is plugged into the AUX port on the back of the Mcintosh head unit.
The car was imported in 2017, and unfortunately comes with very little history from japan. However, since it is has been in my possession the following maintenance work has been carried out.
• Engine, gearbox, diff oils & filters changed (Last service was April 2018).
• Air filter changed for K & N panel filter.
• Coolant change.
• Belts, rollers and waterpump changed.
• Steering pump and fluid changed.
• Spark plugs changed.
• Rocker cover and gaskets changed.
• Brake pads (Pagid pads now fitted) and discs changed. Brakes now less than 3000 miles old.
• Brake pipes changed for braided steel.
All the above work has been carried out by Subaru specialist Tim Farmer
As well as the above this the car was professionally undersealed with waxoil (by reed autos in Cambridgeshire) in autumn 2017. It has also been remapped for UK fuel (it’s designed to run on 98 RON or better), at the same time as the map for UK fuel the car had a power hike of roughly 10%, to give the same power as a manual 2.0 twinscroll (approx. 280 BHP). At the time of the mapping a Hayward and Scott center section was fitted to help improve the throttle response. This is the same exhaust set up as the Prodrive option fitted to subaru imprezas, and is fully MOT compliant. The mapping was done by Subaru specialist mapper Zen performance.
An uprated whiteline rear ARB, bushes and droplinks have also been fitted to help reduce understeer. Geometry check and wheel alignment has been carried out at Cambridge protyres.
The Auto box has three modes,
1. “Eco” this limits the turbo boost pressure and ignition timing for improved economy.
2. “Normal” gives full turbo pressure, and normal driving style.
3. “Sport” gives full turbo pressure and keeps the car in gear until the red line. To be honest, it’s far too aggressive for most scenarios.
The gear stick can be used to change gear sequentially, and there are buttons on the steering wheel that can also be used to manually change gear.
Other work carried out (By Bar hill motors).
New starter motor, power steering hose, driverside CV joint boot and bosch battery. The front tyres are also less than 3000 miles old.
The good parts.
The engine gearbox and all mechanical parts are all in very good condition. The car pulls strongly and cleanly, with no knocks, bangs, clunks or rattles. Despite the mileage the engines use very little oil between services. As you can see from the list above, no significance maintenance should be needed for a while.
Bad parts.
This is a 12 year old car, and the bodywork has a number of scratches and (as with all Subarus) car park dings. Due to the sunlight in japan, the dashboard has some cracks, and the interior door handles are scratched.
The rear tyres will need replacing soon (this was the only advisory on the last MOT).
All the wheels could do with a refurb.
The car speedo still reads in KMH, but this is MOT compliant. These issues have been considered in the price. A cusco front strut brace, and some thule roof bars can be included in the sale for the right price.
More pictures available on request. Car is available to view in Cambridge (CB1) by appointment. This is a private sale, so please no trade ins, or absurdly low offers. No warranty implied or given. The car is advertised elsewhere.

I have a JDM wrx wagon, 2000 model, just been through MOT. Has rust, but otherwise done only 70,000 miles. Sti suspension, rear ARB with drop links, 200 cell sports cat and quiet fujitsubo exhaust, TD04 mapped to 265hp about 20,000 miles ago. Would take £1400 as part exchange if you're interested. It's W478RPR if you want to check MOT history.
