It's worth about £1500 with a knocking engine mate and that's if the bodywork was in good condition, which your ebay listing states it's not.

I would also suggest you tell people that may bid on it that the engine is knocking, otherwise someone might be knocking you out.

Good luck with the sale.

Considering it needs £1500 minimum to fix the bottom end, then I'd say the car us worth around £2500 max. It's not just the hassle or known cost of repair, it's the reason why and what else that you start thinking about.

Cheapest fix is going to be £2k ish maybe less if you can DIY, full specialist rebuild which is what it needs will be £3/3,5k.

You admit the bodywork is not so good and it's had some paint on both sides.

I would not give you £1k for it, I was trying to be nice.

Why should he start a thread about engine problems when he's trying to SELL as is,he would have done so if he planned on getting it fixed? He's put the ad on ebay knowing its knocking just to try his luck, unfortunately he doesn't have the luck of the Irish, what he does have is **** English, learn to speak it before coming to this country

No need for that kind of talk, judging by his writing I'd say he speaks better English than half the people in the UK and probably a damn sight smarter too, having learned to speak, read and write in a foreign language, I'd say he's doing pretty well compared to some of the crap that gets written on here.

It can be done for £1500 by a garage, in fact if you source a very good 2nd hand engine, you could probably do it for less than a grand all inc

3k. Got quote of wilks engine in Shipley for full rebuild 1400. Included belt and waterpump. Spoke to him nice guy and say you can down any time and a chat and see his work shop. So this car will stand you at 4500 and will be worth way over 5500

Wrx 300's are not worth £5500 or anywhere near that, thats not far off blob sti money.
I couldnt sell my 300 for £4.5k and that was with a descent engine, i doubt you'll get £3k for it as it is.

this, however, my friend, is only your opinion.

if you were offered 4800, how did you come to 5500 suddenly?

There is nothing exclusive about a wrx300. absolutely nothing exclusive, it is still a god damn wrx!!!

you can get an sti blob for 5500 quite easily, especially during this time of the year...

the car, currently, is not worth more then 1500

best of luck to you and your dreams, however.

Only a heads up. . Little Dave is selling an impressive example with full ppp package, 86k on the clock, sti upgrades, and beautiful bodywork. He's getting interest at £4500 and still can't sell it. Take £2200 cash for your as it is, that's a fair price for it. If you can push for £2500 then your lucky. Sentimental value does not come into it on the UK car market sadly. Take an offer around the above and you have done well. I sold my 380bhp fully forged bug last year with sti everything on It for £3800. Worth tons more but the market is **** I'm afraid.

If you decide to lower your price, I'd be interested in it at around £2K. To re-iterate what some of the others are trying to say - I have bought 2 other Blobeye WRX's with blown engines in the last year and one I paid ~2K (Low mileage Prodrive WRX) and the other £1200 (WRX Higher miles but with lots of mods).
I'm not saying you can't ask whatever figure you want for your car. However this is the sort of price they go for I'm afraid. There is a white WRX on here right now with a blown engine for £2K (Fair enough its in the Isle of Man which is a bit off putting for me) but it just shows around the £2k mark is the sort of price you should realistically be aiming for!
That being said - Good luck with the sale buddy, no matter how much you're asking for it!
