'04 Forester STI
2004 Suabru Forester STI.
Silver/grey metallic.
91,333 miles.
Taxed until March 2015.
MOT'd until March 25th 2015.
This is a genuine JDM Forester STI and comes from the factory with:
2.5 litre STI engine.
6 speed STI gearbox.
Brembo brakes front and rear.
STI bodykit.
Black STI interior as found in the Spec C.
All this fitted into the Forester body shell makes for a great combination of practicality and somewhat stealthy performance. It's got a huge boot and ISOFIX so if you're a family man who wants STI performance this is perfect.
In addition to the factory spec this car features:
Tein Superwagon coil overs with EDFC. Controller is concealed behind the ashtray cover.
Enkei Racing RS+m forged 18" wheels.
Pioneer AVH-X2500BT double DIN touchscreen head unit. Bluetooth calls/music streaming.
Cobra alarm.
I bought the car last October as I didn't want to run my RS4 through the winter. This came up locally and I'd always fancied one so I went to view.
The car was not pretty but the paint all appeared original. History was non-existent but it seemed mechanically reasonable so a deal was done.
First thing I did was fit a pair of new front tyres to replace the slicks fitted on the car.
It then went straight to Rich at FBtuning for a check over and service. This included:
Oil/filter service with Millers 10w50.
Gearbox and diff oil replaced with Millers CRX75w90NT.
Anti-freeze drained and replaced.
Cambelt replaced. Pulleys/tensioner inspected.
New radiator fitted due to small weep at top hose union.
I've covered about 3000 miles since and now the time has come to move on.
Whilst I had great intentions, the bodywork is exactly as when I bought it and there are a couple of items that could do with sorting:
The drivers window doesn't work. I think the motor is the culprit.
The nearside rear seat section doesn't fold.
The car only came with one key/alarm fob.
So here's your chance to own one of these very rare cars at a bargain price.
£7000
Easily the cheapest FSTI out there!

Only joking mate but its only good news as it will make the fozzy sell even quicker, not that it wouldn't at that price

4,1000km's(25,476miles) + (106,800 - 41,000)65,800miles = 91,276miles
I added a bit as I didn't have the exact mileage to hand
The dealer I bought it from didn't realise this was the way it worked either

When the speedo is switched to read mph the odo starts to clock in miles rather than km's so the total mileage is the sum of
4,1000km's(25,476miles) + (106,800 - 41,000)65,800miles = 91,276miles
I added a bit as I didn't have the exact mileage to hand

Opinions please....
I know it's only been a couple of days but, before I put it on pistonheads, have I got the pricing on this wrong?
I was expecting someone to take my arm off at this price

I think your spot on, even maybe a bit on the cheap side, maybe it's the milage and the fact it's a 2.5 that's making people nervous.
Looks a good buy to me, I'd be tempted if I was in the market for one, just hang fire for a while, Subarus are a bit of a niche market and the Forester even more so.

The no history part does it for me I'm afraid, especially on the 2.5 unit. Looks a good car though, and the price is right considering the lack of service history and the couple of little problems.

Maybe advertise it on http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f75/ too?
I have since had the car checked out fully, serviced and run it for 3k miles with no issues. My thought was if it was going to go bang, it probably would have already
