Thumbs up 2003 Impreza WRX STI 343bhp/320lbft

2003 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type UK (World Rally Blue, Gold standard alloys)
84,701 miles

Owned by me for a year, I got it at 62,000 miles (many miles up and down the M1 as you can see!)

Always, ALWAYS ran on V-Power or Tesco Momentum

I've had it serviced it every 5-6,000 miles except the last service which was the manufacturer recommended 10,000 miles by a local garage who I'm good friends with the mechanics of, before me it was serviced regularly at the correct service intervals.

Never skipped a beat with me. Always ran perfectly.

Clutch replaced 15,000 miles ago (Exedy)

Subaru Pro-R performance air filter (not the oiled rubbish that bungs up your MAF)

I had a HRC 255lph fuel pump fitted (which is a modified Walbro, supposed to be much better) along with a 2.5" bore turbo back Afterburner exhaust with Afterburner Raptor backbox. Car is currently de-catted and remapped by Duncan of Racedynamix fame, it made a whopping 343BHP and 320lb/ft of torque and in Duncan's words "Made that power easily". He also commented on how well the engine sounded and responded to his mapping. It pulls very hard and is an incredibly quick car.

HT Autos Splitter fitted less than 1,000 miles ago.

I just had it serviced and MOT'd which it passed .

Also just had 4 brand new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's put on.

Only bad bits really is the lacquer in some of the corners is a bit peely. Paintwork certainly isn't immaculate but I believe all it really needs is a good machine polish.

I'm asking for the very fair price of £5995, located near Leighton Buzzard.

Better pics on Pistonheads (will transfer to this thread when I can)

Only reason I'm selling is because I've just bought a BRZ. She's been a fantastic car to me and I can't believe I'm writing this really!

The slight anomaly on the power graph was due to a bit of slip on the dyno (scary mary!)

I have some black mudflaps to go back onto the rear and the car will come with the full standard exhaust system if you would like it (useful for MOT purposes)

I'll also take some better pictures as soon as I can, it was a bit bright the day I took those!

Please reply on here or send me a PM if you have any questions at all about the car. I'll hear sensible offers but I'm in no massive rush to sell.

Thank you for you time

It was! Mega! Somehow I managed to justify the BRZ to myself because it does better MPG.. hence the sale, that's man maths for you .

The centre console and gear lever surround are painted WR blue, I'll have to get some better pictures of that. The air vent surrounds are also painted WR blue to match, looks great.

I did debadge it (apart from the one on the grille!) but they are just badges and stickers, could probably pick up complete replacements for less than 30 quid altogether. I suppose looking from an outsiders view you might not see any proof this is an STI.. I'll have to take pics to prove that too.

Thanks Xline! She's a beauty!

Thanks for the offer! But as you can see in one of the pics I already have my BRZ! I'm afraid this is a cash sale only. If you sell the Golf and come at me with the money it'll be worth your while! .

Thanks for the interest.

Couple of Qs

Where there any advisories on the MOT?

How did it pass without a CAT?

What sort of condition is the front sub frame as I see a few Subaru's of this vintage that have had new ones fitted due to rust.

Hi Paul,

Off the top of my head there were no advisories, but I can check for you after work.

I had one of the cats refitted for the test and then removed again.

Nothing to be afraid of there, the mechanics who work on this car are good friends of mine and would certainly mention anything like that to me. I've also been under the car and didn't notice anything like that.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks!

All sounds good............if you can send me a copy of the advisories (if any) and a copy of the print out of the emissions that would be a great start. I already have one car that needs encouragement to get through this test, I would rather not have another.
Which Cat did you put in for the mot, I seem to remember the one in the exhaust from the turbo is a bitch to change.
I do have some other questions but this is a good start.

Great! I'm glad you are pleased. I'll find the latest MOT certificate as soon as I get home and let you know the advisories, which I'm pretty sure there were zero else I'd have sorted them! I'll also find the emissions.

I'm afraid I just gave the garage the box of exhaust bits and let them have at it, I can certainly find out which one they did if you like. I personally thought re-isntalling either cat would pass it to be honest, but if you're not looking to change anything to get it through the MOT then I'm afraid this won't be the car for you, it will need at least one cat!

Failing that, I'm sure installing a sports cat wouldn't knock too much off what horse power it made. Obviously depends if you want to do that or not. Up to you sir. All I can do is tell you my experience and you can decide if it's the car for you .

Forgot to check this thread! Putting some more pics up of the service book and lowering the price. Had a few time wasters now. From my research, this is now one of the cheapest blob STI's on the market. Absolute bargain.

Has it seen a cambelt replacement? When was it mapped and put on the rollers?

The cambelt was replaced at 56,000 miles. The car was mapped around late January/Feburary this year by Duncan of RaceDynamix on the rolling road at RCM.

Please let me know if you have any more questions

I know this isn't the best first post ever, but in my defence there is no "come and say hello thread" anyway I doubt it is (and if so sorry for the bump) but this still for sale?
