Nice motor mate, that torque figure is unbelievable! Is the 2.5 bottom end from an STi or WRX? Or was it from neither and built from scratch? As I was wondering how much power it would handle, as the gearbox may need replacing in the future due to the high torque figure. However, I did hear that the P1 gearbox is the strongest out of the classic range so maybe that doesn't apply for you.

GLWTS

Regards,

Subaru Collector 555.

Hi, the bottom end is from an STi. It was purchased brand new from a user on here called Wuz. I am sure his name was Russell. He had purchased it brand new but was not going to use it and when the bottom end went in mine I decided to buy it from him and get this fitted.

I believe the engine will take 465bhp, but I may not be correct on that. I think to get more power out of if you would need to change the turbo and front mount.

The P1 gearbox is supposed to be the strongest 5 speed, or so I was told at the time of building the car. I guess it depends how you drive the car. If you're giving it 4k launches, I don't think it would last very long. Any fast driving I have done has been rolling starts.

It's a reasonable spec but I think you will pushed to get any more than 3k for it buddy. No insult intended but whole there not worth buttons as you can pick up a 2.5sti block for under a grand with around 50k on it. May be worth giving that engine bay a scrub too. It looks like it was removed from under the sea. ☺

Hi no insult taken.

I am a little out of touch with the subaru scene, so not sure on the going rate for things. I would be surprised if you've seen a block for under a grand, but I am sure there is bargains to be had. Also my engine is basically brand new.

I appreciate the car is probably worth more to me than it is to the buyer.

I am open to offers. I thought I'd try here before putting on ebay.
