We do them regularly. The best advice I can give is to buy very good quality wrap with air chanels. It will cost you more but is worth every penny!
Without the air chanels you will have lots of bubbles and possibly end up doing it twice!

have wrapped several bonnets and roofs recently done a whole car, did the roof and bonnet on my bug wagon, eclipse performance are right air release best for beginner and avoid cheep ebay rubbish, wont last and finish will grey. a warm day or warm building helps loads.

I watched mine get wrapped, not an easy job if you want it to be faultess, a lot of time and care is needed to get it correct and bubble free, I wouldnt attempt it myself!
