Help! Blob STI plastic spoiler inserts?
Two of the plastic inserts which hold the spoiler in place are broken. As a result there is a nasty squeaking sound and a nasty rust patch on the boot lid as the spoil has rubbed the paint away.

I'm not bothered about the bodywork atm, that can be resprayed. I am however bothered about the little plastic insets. I cannot find them anywhere and I don't want to buy a whole new spoiler.
Buggered inset:

Missing insert:

Undamaged inset:

The dealership ordered me a "spoiler kit" and it simply contained nuts and bolts. Does anyone have any idea where I can get them or even better, does anyone have any I can buy from them?
Blob Eye STI without spoiler (in case anyone wanted to see what it would look like):

I've tried the dealers. I'll try again though. I think finding one in a scrap yard is going to be difficult. I've got an idea how to make some kind of replacement so I think I may have to give that a try.
What sized holes do they fit into on the boot? Plain, (straight into the bootl;id), or with their own plastic insert?
Have you tried Googling car trim fixings?
Or ebay?
Both might yield similar...........

I'd need to measure them. The bolts basically have a plastic part at the top which slots into the inserts. I've tried looking for them, but I'm not even sure I'm searching for the right key words. I was thinking about buying a spoiler off ebay but that means making another making another spoiler useless.
Aha! Eureka moment!
NOW I see what you mean: the INSERTS, not the round clips, yes?
If that is correct, I can see only FOUR options:
1. Buy a spoiler off e-bay etc and remove them. BUT DO get a genuine one or it wont have them.
2. Visit a scrappers, or get them to look for a BUSTED spoiler, remove from that.
3, Make them from Styrene sheet. NOT easy, but do-able.
4. Set the round clips PERMANENTLY in place with Isopon etc, but you would need to know EXACTLY where they go, the old method clerarly allows some latitude of movement for positioning.
If it were me, I'd be looking at option 2. If you Google "Subaru breakers" or "Impreza breakers" you get hits. Ring around, see if any have a BROKEN spoiler like yours.
Grade A, or Motorhog, aka Doncaster Motor Spares, are good.

I would glue a new peg to the spoiler as it can only be in 1 place the alignment is taken care of by the oval socket installed in the boot, my bootlid went rusty under spoiler but I bought a new spec c bootlid in aluminium and fitted my spoiler to that, in order to minimise chance of it cutting through paint in future I fitted a slightly thicker foam seal to the spoiler it was just some seal from a plastic window place as I noticed the original seal had compressed and allowed the spoiler itself to rub on the boot.
Another option would be to trim the slot out and set a small aluminium channel in the enlarged hole, dependant upon thickness of spoiler where it is located you may be able to pop rivit it in position failing that a good contact adhesive. It's defo not worth buying a new spoiler for that damage.
