Default Polyester primer filler???

Can anyone tell me the advantages/properties of polyester primer instead of standard primer (for spraying). Its been 25 years since I was in the trade and I cant remember if they made polyester primer back then.
Thanks in advance....

AFAIK, The primer is thicker to allow you to sand more per coat in order to get a smoother finish quicker

Polyester primer filler is similar to normal poly filler, but thinned down to allow it to be sprayed on.

It uses peroxide as its activation solution, the same as normal filler.

Good but expensive, and was/is used in the custom and specialist car refinishing game.

Personally, I think a good 2 pack primer filler does a similar job...

Best thing since sliced bread, as said is basicaly a spray filler and normaly used on resto's or custom job's, aslong as the repairs pretty good you'll get away with a 2k primer, also if you use polyester primer you need to go over the top with 2k primer i think, or thats what we did

Also you'll need the gun wound out flat out or a nice big bore nozzle

To right on a big nozzle lol,you need a 1.8 or 2.0 tip for polyester.
Tbho and not being big headed I do my prep work on the filling to a standard were 2K filler is always sufficient for the rubbing down so poly is never needed.
