Default Colour Change... (Re-spray)

Hi All,

I am considering re-spraying my03 blobeye car to a Peril White...

I have a few questions;

1. Good or bad idea? Does this de-value your car?
2. Cost? The big question. I want a good quality finish with no peeling etc... What ball park figure am i looking at?
3. Garage recommendation? I am based in London/Essex, but wouldn't mind travelling if its worth the journey.

Cheers,

J

Re-sprays sometimes put people off buying. I personally wouldn't buy a car that has had a re-spray. Have you looked into vinyl wrapping it? The finish is just as good, can easily be removed come sale time, and any scratches or marks can be easily removed with a new piece...

Is there any disadvantage with the vinyl wrap?

What about a respray that's the same colour? Thinking of getting mine resprayed the same colour as it is already? It's like 20 year old now so starting to show it's age

what colour is your car at the mo?

the price starts to rocket when you want things like the engine bay done. would look odd if you have a blue car, and then paint the outside white. you can get away with it with a black car thats painted white, other than that it looks crap if you ever need to open the bonnet.

i personally think its harder to sell a car thats had a full repaint, unless you can prove to someone that its genuinely only had a repaint due to your own prefernece, and not a crash. pic of car would be great.

The car is WR Blue, but i fancy a change... Perhaps the vinyl route is the safest and cost effective.

Straight forward repaint, including door shuts in a solid colour (white for example) with no major repairs will cost upwards of £2k....
