Default carbon fibre or fibreglass

looking at bonnets, and which to go for, so far FG works out cheap and is also easier to repair. CF depends on if you liek the look or not.

i can;t find which works out lighter, anyone know off hand tyical weights of normal metal, CF adn FG bonnets?

I'd think a fg one would be silly weight and also prone to cracking when dropped shut?

it will be strong enough to not crack so not worried about that, more a curiosity question.

Yes, I'm interested in the carbon bonnet. What's the difference in weight to the normal one - I've got a classic.

What's the difference in weight of a carbon boot to the normal one too?

right if u buy a carbon bonnett from a dealer 9 out of 10 times its cheap wet layup with a fibreglass frame so on money wise a grp item with suitable core would be the best option

frp with carbon skin is the cheapest and lightest option.is fairly hard wearing due to the carbon skin and light due to being fibreglass base.

you would want 3k twill weave carbon for a bonnet though.

drop me a pm if you need anymore help with carbon bits

I have also been looking at carbon fibre bonnets.

My main concern is do they come with the mountings so you can fit the undertray?

I have asked a few people, but no one can confirm, seems like a waste if you cannot fit the undertray.
