Default Carbon Fiber clear coat advice...

I've managed to ge my greasy mits on a carbon fiber wrapped lower splitter. Its been wrapped in carbon fiber, and epoxy'ed, but the weave is still visible and textured. What should i do to finish this off?

Should i use a fine wet and dry and take it down a bit, then layer up the clear coat, rubbing down evry layer with 1200 and 1500 grit?

Also, any recomendations for cloar coat with a UV filter?
I've been looking around and i cant seem to find anything...
