Exclamation How do I smoke my taillights??

I have a 96 Impreza V-Limited Edition and the scooby parts store just gave my Lexus taillights for 20 pounds.. Well I put them on and they look like ****. How do I get the smoke look on my taillights.. Well the best way for the best look??

I smoked my old scoobies lights with just tinting spray.
Mask area, then apply 2-3 coats (anymore and it gets too dark, and also advisable to upgrade your bulbs)
Then a few coats of clear laquer.
Cost about £20 in spray and took about 90mins to allow time between coats.
Remember, spraying the whole lights will render your reflectors useless, thus making your car illigal.
This can be solved by adding extra reflectors(within governed area) or not spraying the reflector bit.
I never bothered with either and never got pulled.
A pic..............

You can get "smoke" spray cans for lights from the nastier car accesory shops and probably Halfrauds, but won't this make them look worse? Never seen a set of "Lexus" lights I like on a Scoob, but each to their own and you can't really argue for £20....

You could try a Fly Eyes kit http://www.flyeyeskit.co.uk/ much better than spray tints

I used 1 coat of e-tech tint as mentioned above but then coated it in 3 of clear laquer followed by a buff and polish. Look like genuine oem tinted units now, check my garage for pics!

Just drop 10% black into clear lacquer, then build up to required level.
