Crack on my spoiler, bad?
So today i went and brought a STI 5 spoiler and after cleaning it i found this:
Picture is not too clear but the camera ran out of battery.
Basically it looks like a crack but i have to get it resprayed and was thinking they could hopefully rub filler on it or something?
It's only small and doesn't look like an issue but peoples views would be good.
It's a genuine V5 spoiler.
Thanks

Yeah it's deff a genuine V5 spoiler.
I was putting pressure around the crack and the gap was opening and closing, only very milicule movement. Would this still happen if it was the laquer coat?

The upper one, I'd have professionally repaired:they will probably remove the paint and "weld" it with ABS solvent, then repaint.
You can do the bottom ones yourself: get some ABS solvent from a good model shop, or online. Platic Weld or MekPak is a good make. Dissolve some ABS into it and force it into the cracks as a gooey liquid, then allow it to set.
And when it goes back on, get plenty of copper grease on those bolts, or THEY will swell with rust and crack it again. You could also seal around them with a bead of Carafax grey non-setting mastic.
I repaired damage to the brakelight lower cover on mine in the same way. Once it's hardened, the ABS can be smoothed and painted over.
