Default rust!!! best options to sort??

yes thats whats left of the rear panel ive been talking to a friend who does bodywork and he reckons the best option would be to cut out the rusting area and weld in a new piece or another option is to replace the whole panel! any other advice??? would that be an mot failiure even if i take the edges down and smooth them off as a temp fix??

Have you priced up the panels - apparently they are a small fortune, what about a wide arch lit

The only way is to cut it out completely. You could try your approach - it would work, just make sure you gent enough.

best option is to cut away all existing rust and replace with a new panel as cause if u dont make a decent job of it it will probably come back through
