Default Having my car painted, opinions & photoshop help needed

My car us currently Mica Green, 64c & I'm looking at having it repainted in April, I would like to change the colour to 86f - cool grey, but its a lot of grief as I will have to have the engine out & the interior, so it doesn't look like a botch job. The other option is to reshell the car into either an Sti v5 the colour I want or a Type R.

So, I'm looking for opinions, do I keep it mica geen & if so, what styling mods would you recommend (I was thinking, leave the sideskirts, door handles & mirrors black & add a v6 lip) or, do I repaint a different colour or re-shell.

All opinions welcome

Here are a couple of pics if someone with photoshop skills fancies doing a colour change?

cheers

Good point, however I would be back to square 1 with the mechanicals if I did that, hence the re-shell/repaint. It goes & handles the way I like & I wouldn't be able to recoup the money I've spent unless I break it for parts.

i dont think that looks too bad in the pics.i prefer saloons in green than wagons tho.anyway, have you considered the implications of a re-shell has on your insurance!im no expert but they get a little funny about this kind of thing unless you have an understanding insurer!

leave it as is, quite like the green and gold combo........

am guessing a colour change would make a prospective buyer (should you sell it) a bit suspicious

To be honest I'm not a fan of the gold on green, I was thinking of having he ST2's painted anthracite, they are mint so didn't warrent having money spent on them.

If I do keep it green I was hoping to get close to something like this:

or with gold PD7's:

Some of the door rub strips look good too.

If I did reshell, it would be on the new shell's identity, although I would retain my plate providing its the same MY as mine. My car is heavily modified as it is anyway & not on the original engine, with all the mods declared, my insurance is very reasonable, guess it pays to be an old bugger sometimes

Just buy one in the colour you like, swap all the goodies off the green one over and sell it as a standard car. Should be able to recoup most of the money then.
