Default Japspeed GTR-style spoiler for newage

I've been looking for a half height spoiler for ages now. I only want to make the change if I find a good quality item that's a good fit.

Anyone know anything about this one?

Subaru Impreza New Age 4 Door GTR Style Carbon Spoiler --- Japspeed Performance Parts

I'm wary of the quality of fibreglass, however their 'carbon' one seems to be a fibreglass one with a carbon-look coating. Any thoughts or experience on this?

Also it doesn't have an integrated brake light. My 05 WRX spoiler has one - does that mean I legally need to keep a 3rd brake light for the MOT? I asked Ed but he said to ask MOT garages. Surely Japspeed have to state whether it's legal or not?

It claims to be direct bolt-on replacement, so I hope that at least means it's easily fitted.

Thanks...

Anyone?

Particularly what's the law on 3rd brake lights? My car came with one as standard, is it OK to remove it?

As far as I know you don't need a third brake light it an added saftey feature, but if it is fitted then it must work. If you look at the uk300 bugeye the prodrive spoiler looks like it doen't have a brake light in. Can't commet on the product but does looks good

thanks both of you. baz scuse the random google link, do you mean this one? Frank Göpfert - Die Geschichte des Impreza GT - www.goep.de.vu -
I think it does have a brake light, but not my thing looks wise unfortunately.

cmasterscoob, fair enough, i'd rather have one too...

a pu low hoop spoiler with a brake light and fits the original holes (fine if it needs extra fitting) can't be that unusual can it? my dad's 04 honda accord has a decent one as standard, shame subaru don't do a similar one for newage cars, or a bit taller. the classic imprezas have a few to choose from. even the evo x one is smaller than an sti wing

i'll stick with the standard one for now and see if something comes along that ticks all the boxes.

yes thats the spoiler. I thought it didn't have a brake light but it does.

I know what you mean about the spoiler I'm after something abit bigger than the standard.

Not wanting to go with the sti spoiler route, was thinking of going with the JDM spoiler risers trying to be a bit different

DR Motorsport has been mentioned a few times on here, I've sent them an email:

New Page 1

The Rally Tech wing looks a little smaller than the Sti one.

Or an Sti Limited riser like this might be what you're after? I'm sure there's UK sites that sell them. https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/p...e.php?pID=1161

Hi, I have this rear spoiler fitted to my 03 Spec c

Seibon Carbon Fiber Products: Hoods, Trunk Lids, Fenders, Lip Spoilers, Accessories...

the quality of the carbon fibre is excellent and the fixings lined up perfectly with the holes in the boot lid for the standard low rise wrx type spoiler fitted to a Spec C.

It hasn't got a built in brake light but since its passed two MOT's with it fitted there can't be a legal issue with omitting the third brake light.

Cheers dude, not quite my cup of tea but baz might be interested. David@DR mentioned RallyTech spoilers are low volume and made to order, which explains the cost. Looks good quality though. Their replica sti wing is lighter too, so even if its not my ideal choice aethestically, it is a practical option!
