i am currently looking for my 1st scooby, and this may get slated but i was wondering how many versions of black there is and the differences.

I have seen mica black but have yet to find one in this colour available.

Subaru Paint Codes

Looks like for the classic models there were 2 blacks, and for new age models there's 3.
I thought they were all similar being black with a hint of a red fleck through it, the only one that is clearly different is the blue black (as that has a blue fleck instead of red)

well my car is a 2002 bug sti prodrive and is down on reg, doc as obsidian black, but is really a black with blue flecks in it, so not sure if the reg.doc is wrong, as they did make a flat black that i thought was the obsidian black.

Mica black is normally the one with the red fleck, on the classic shapes

cheers for that am slowly building up an idea lol, i woulda thought graphite black would b the flat black, and obsidian would b either the red or blue fleck. just i really like the mica, and know its on a car i'm lookin at buying which is a 2003 model.

Don't know the official names for them, but I have had newage WRX's in both metallic black with a gold flake, and metallic black with a blue flake. I think the gold was bugeye and the blue a blobeye, or was it the other way round

OK.......I'm wrong on the bugeye / blobeye thing but I stick with my first post in that the gold flake looked real nice
