Question window film

Can anyone give me tips for fitting this?

I have fitted decals to bodywork before using the water spray method successfully. However I had a first attempt at fitting tint film and it was not too successful and wondered if there are any tips for fitting?

Thanks

Mike

I agree with ralphandcarol. I've had many cars windows tinted. There is simply too much surface area to look bad due to a amateur job. Mine have always looked perfect until the day I sold the car. Usually at least five years. Also choose the better films, cheap stuff turns purple and or rippley as well as peels at the edges.

It's incredibly tricky.

There are some good tips at www.tintdude.com but if it's just for your car then you'll spend more money trying to get it right than it'd cost to get the pro's in.

We do a bit of vinyl(sp?) applying to rough council vans and to get all the bubbles out is tricky, but can be done. It's just the cutting of the film which i presume would be the hardest?

the easiest way is to remove the windows you want to do, and dip them in an old bath or similar, its a pain in the **** though, id personally suggest paying for it to be done. its relativly cheap now.

IMHO people who do this all day long for a living usually make a better job, and it is tricky.
