Default Removing bumper holes

I'm getting my front bumper and splitter re painted next week (MY97) and I was hoping to remove the headlamp washers and obviously the holes left behind and probably number plate screw holes. Has anyone done this? I was thinking of plastic welding some pieces in behind and smoothing off with bodyfiller. Greatful for any suggestions.

Default holes

I use some aluminium sheet cut to shape and then bond it to the back of the bumper using tigerseal or windscreen adhesive, rough up the back of the bumper first to promote adhesion. Then fill the hole with fibreglass resin and finish off with body filler...

You'd be better off as you said before, ie, plastic weld a piece in the hole, (using a soldering iron ) and then use a plastic filler ( suitable for bumpers)to smooth it over.

That way, it'll not crack or sink over time....

That sounds even better, much appreciated. Is plastic filler readily available (ie motor factors) or can you recommend anywhere?
