Default cutting fibreglass? help? tips?

Right, in the process of modding an MY00 bumper with P1 type splitter bonded on. Its already been sprayed, basically cut most of the centre section out to clear the FMIC, if i knew i was going to have to completely decimate the bumper i would have done it before it was painted.

Anyway have succesfuly cut the bumper using a sharp utility knife, a lot of patience and care and have got away with it, looks ok.

Problem is the back of the P1 splitter, in the middle of the bumper needs to be cut, but the bastid is fibreglass.

never worked with fibreglass before but it looks like nasty stuff, any advice, tips on how to cut it? do i need to wear a mask etc?

any help appreciated.

just use a small toothed hacksaw blade or one of them fret saw/jig saw type saws and wear a dust mask if the teeth are small there should be minimal damage to the paint

Personally I always use a cutting disc on a Dremel for smaller fibreglass parts - or as said above - a cutting disc on a grinder
Don't forget a respirator as fibreglass dust is not pleasant
