Rust spot due to chip?
Hi,
just been checking out the roof on my WRX03 whilst a good polishing session and noticed a little spot - closer inspection shows a rust spot with many little spider threads around the diameter like its spreading.
Can this be fixed easily by someone?
Cheers

I have the same problem on my '04 WRX. If it stays as it is, I'm not too bothered, but it does look like it's spreading. Is there an easy way to sort it...it's right in the centre of the roof

Blimey, posted this donkeys ago. Scoob long gone.
I used a small file to scrap out the rust in the spot, cleaned it up with rust preventer, then added some touch up paint. Seemed ok after that.

From a spray painters point of view I would say shot blast the rust to make sure its all gone and then paint the roof. Touching it in with paint or rust remedy should slow down the spread of the rust though. hope this helps

Thanks gents.
@Scoobedoo
Not long gone to rust I hope
The spot is tiny ATM, so I think repainting the roof may be a little extreme. I'll have a good look at it when I clean the car next week...not sure how easy it'll be to make a repair without it being blindingly obvious though
