Default V5/6 Spoiler fitting??

Got a v5/6 STi spoiler for my classic and its in two bits. When you fit it do you leave the join of the two parts of the spoiler visible and paint it or do you stick some filler on there first??

Well, shes on....what can i say, nightmare!!!

Went to put it on the boot and there was a 1 inch gap underneath it, luckily the father-in-law owns a fibreglass factory. Had to split the bottom section in half, fix the bottom half to the boot and reattatch the top half to it. After that and lots of resin a little P38 we stck the second piece of the spoiler on top and whacked it on the boot.

Fits a treat now, alot of work but well worth it. Front splitter went straight on, will post a pic up tomorrow.

this was on a thread a few weeks ago, IIRC you just fit the bottom half of the spoiler to the boot lid first then fit the top part of the spoiler to that?

you've maybe done a lot of work for nothing!

No, the bottom half was put on by itself first and even with the bow in it flattened out by heavy pushing (and i mean heavy!) the fixing holes already in the spoiler where about 20mm out!,its the bottom half itself that we then had to split in half again. Because of the way it was bonded together it had made it arch alot more than it should of.

Also added some more fixings to the centre aswell for extra strength.
