Angry Wax On, Wax Off Daniel-San

waxed the car the other day, and I am seriously unimpressed with my efforts so I intend to do it again, only this time with a motorised buffer thing.

1. How do I get the existing wax off.

2. Best place to buy a buffer online.

ta.

electric buffers will leave swirl marks on your car, look pretty cack in the sunlight.

Buy some Mer polish, polish it on, then let it dry, then rub off with a dry cloth.
Then use some turtle was, polish sealer, or some **** like that, cant think what its called. Anyway, its a liquid you wipe on your car after youve polished it, it then dries, wipe it over and it selas the polish in.
Top results, and you only have to use the sealer ever few months.

If you want a decent shine get some Swissol, it is the best and easier to use and that is why it costs more. You are best getting a kit, that way you will have everything you need to keep the car in top condition. Use the cleansing fluid which will remove any crap wax, swirl marks etc then you use the wax. and then just keep on waxing every couple of weeks. Use the cleanser about once a year as it is quite time consuming to do the whole car. Don't use sh1te car shampoo as this will simply strip the wax you have put on off Either use the swissol car wash or Meiguers Gold car wash (£15 for a big bottle).

Hope this helps

I think the wax is ok but I asked 'er indoors to remove the polish, and it looks streaky / blotchy underneath - fine from distance but on close inspection it looks poo and I'm just not happy with it, and can't help looking for the faults.

Was told a while back that a quick going over with fairy liquid would remove the wax (followed by lots and lots of rinsing) but it didn't work too well. The wax has only been on since wednesday...

The reason I asked about buffers was because my arm was killing me after the wax, thought a buffer would give give a consistent result.

I wouldn't use a buffer on it.........

This might sound strange but get a spray mister like you use on plants with water in it.
lightly spray one panel at a time then dry it with some paper towel.

I used to find one of my cars looked streaky and blotchy in certain light and the water should get rid of it ,its something to do with using too much wax.

ah - wasn't aware of that - the too much wax thing - does the paper towel treatment remove the excess? if you know what I mean?

Will try that tonight anyway (If i've enough meguairs left) you'll see if I've been successful on wednesday...

Yep the paper towel thing sorts it out.......

It was a guy at Autoglym that told me that trick when I complained about streaky marks after polishing.

I take it you where serious about the "removing polish with washing up liquid" bit then.

As Boyakasha says Swissol is good stuff but very expensive

I thought if you had a random orbital buffer you won't get swirl marks, because it doesn't rotate like a normal one, it just shimmies about a bit (if you catch my drift)
