Question MY03 Headlamp Protectors

Concerned about the thought of stone holes I've just invested in a set of the clear plastic protectors from my local Scooby dealership.

However, on coming to fit them I found that the retaining metal clip (which fits over the top of the bodywork behind the headlamp & clamps the top of the protector against the headlamp) is an exceedingly poor fit!!

The only thing I can think of doing to allow the clip to seat properly is to cut away part of the rubber seal on the top of the headlamp unit, but am concerned that water may then get into the headlamp itself.

Anyone else fitted the protectors & experienced this??

My dealer put them on for me and they are very tight. They haven't cut any of the rubber away.
So tight that I can only take them off by undoing the plastic screw on the front.
I'll have a look later to see how the clip is mounted and get a piccie.

Here you go,
I guess the clip has to be bent backwards to give it enough spring?
