Check Ravspec in the USA, Cheapest direct replacement I could find. A company in the UK said they would be being production of CF bonnets in the UK for @ £380 in March.

Mark A,
That's correct. There will be 2 UK companies making/supplying carbon bonnets very soon.
For both the classic and bugeye models.
Under £400 will be correct - well from us anyway.

I paid sub £300 inc shipping and vat for mine including scoop and vents in matching carbon. I did get a slight discount but i think the group buy is at cost.
So what are you gonna be selling DR motorsport?
I have carbon bonnet (inc scoop, vents ), carbon bootlid, carbon bodykit (skirts, + bumpers + fog covers), Carbon grill, carbon cooling pannel and carbon 22b stlye spoiler.
If you do anything I'm definately interested, im trying to do as much of the car as possible in cf. Mail me on ssiwatts@aol.com if there are any trick interior/ engine parts you have.

Is this just for the carbon hood though?
The group buy includes carbon hood, carbon scoop and carbon vents not just the hood.

exactly frank
the Ravspec one http://www.ravspec.com/pdetails.asp?itemID=5059
as you can see $399 with no scoop and no vents, if you wanted these expect to pay another $150 minimum so really the Ravspec is a $550 bonnet, plus the shipping (prob $150 +) plus import duty at 3.5% plus Vat on the total sum
So basically 700 + 24.50 handling and $126.78 Vat which is a total of $851.25 which in pounds is £463.92 for a Ravspec bonnet to your door.
Plus the quality isnt really visable in that pic there is no guarantee it will be much good when it arrives. These are brilliant quality
I have searched a lot through US sites for carbon stuff and pretty much know all the companies. I'd say this is one of the best

No, the UK price is much cheaper because the USA price includes shipping. The total UK price should be about £350.
I prefer the bonnet without the scoop and vents, very man to his own.

In fairness though I don't think the Ravspec one idoesnt look to be very good quality. If you look at the picture they haven't even drilled the holes for monting the vents and scoop and the mounts look pretty unfinished.
If thats what you want then go for it, i'm just trying to be helpful. I've seen poor quality carbon before and there is not much you can do with it.
iirc this group buy is £380 shipped to your door, which is going to be about the same as that UK Ravspec price and you get a better quality product with free vents and scoop that you can remove if you don't want them.
Importing from the US is the way forward imho, the gear is better and its cheaper than the uk alternatives

So £350 includes the cost of the bonnet, shipping, duty, import tax, vat and delivery to your house? THat is a good price.
But doesnt include scoop and vents? For an extra £30 you could have joined the group buy price and had carbon scoop and vents.
If you buy a carbon scoop on its own your looking at £100-£150! lol
Fair enough if you dont like the carbon scoop and vents though. Guess it depends on the colour of yoru car. Ive got a black scoob with carbon bonnet, vents and scoop. When i had it with black scoop it didnt look right at all - looked like an after thought - like a boy racer.
POC had a cusco bonnet and it was absolutely beautiful. Just a shame he couldnt get a carbon scoop as he said himself, it would have looked more like a whole carbon bonnet.
You will have to post up pics when you get it

These reason for me doing this is to save weight while sprinting. I'm not worried about the aesthetics. But I do prefer the Ravspec standard looks.
Ravspec quoted me $460 shipped to my door.
I'm not trying to **** on anybodies bonfire, Im sure everybody that's part of the groupbuy is 100% happy with product.

Have you got any pictures of the bumpers, skirts & grill please.
Just mirrors missing, do you know of any cheap sources for them?
Thanks Ticky

was thinking of getting the Rallytech mirrors. They also do the wrc style roof scoop in carbon which seems tempting.
Want lots of interior stuff now, but reverie are sooo bloody expensive.
Ill take some pics at the weekend, gonna get money to come round and do some pics of it all on there. Still needs loads work though, got some serious plans for it this year
