i brought a bit ago a copy of the sti 7 spoiler from a subaru dealer at stourbridge-since when the paint looks as tho it is lifting up-i asked garage about it at service and they said it was a reaction between paint and plastic and it had affected all these spoilers and they was waiting for replacements-this was in october and im still waiting-anyone else had or heard of this problem?

Mark,
A lot of spoilers are supplied from manufacturers in a base primer.
If they've painted the top coats directly onto the primer, there could be a reaction.
Our painters always rub this down, seal the surface, re-do with a coloured primer, then do the top coats/lacquer, etc.
It takes a lot more time, but they don't know what primer they used in the first place.
Results are well worth the extra effort.
