Scoobyworld Fog Covers, help
#1
I just bought these thinking that i'd just have to spray then and clip them on but the instructions mention drilling lots of holes in the bumper and then joining them together with a file so that the bottom clip goes in! WTF!
I'm sure the DR Motorsport ones just clip in, were these a bad purchase or can I get them on without drilling holes!
I'm a bit miffed actually!!!

UHF - if they are the New Age / WRX03 fog covers then yes you need to attach the brackets to the existing foglamp cover surround with self tapping screws. If they are the MY99/00 covers then they simply clip in.
If you're not happy with this, give us a call on Monday and we'll take them back and give you a full refund / or exhange for something else (as long as they havent been sprayed)
Hope this helps

I've just bought some of these (I'm guessing you're talking about the late classic bumper covers) and I was a little surprised to find that some drilling was required for the bottom clip.
Even when I'd done that the covers were still extremely loose, to such an extent that with a small prod they just fell out.
I ended up 'reforming' the little metal tabs so that they jammed into the holes and they're a lot more secure now and hopefully won't pop out when I run over a beetle or something.

NeilT, I've opened the packet and thats how I found out that drilling was required, other than that they're untouched, does sound like they're a pain in the ***!
They are 99 Classic ones, the instructions say that they wont simply clip on. Can I get credit on these?

I believe these are the very same covers that are supplied by other companies and are manufactured by Orciari, Italy, an OE styling supplier. They fit by two metal clips into the top holes and then a small hole is required at the base for the third clip, this is usually a very simple install.
These have become one of our most popular styling products and we generally receive very positve feedback regarding them.
UHF - if you do wish to return them please contact us for an RMA number, as long as they are in the original packaging and not sprayed there should be no problem with this

If its a WRX03 then you can buy the STI8 covers from a Scooby dealer and they fit in without any drilling at all. Come already colour coded with STI SUBARU TECHNICA INTERNATIONAL on them. You NEED to remove the original WRX03 foglight surround/cowling to fit though. They are approx £30.00 each from a dealer.
If you do a search you should be able to find a previous thread which gives you the part numbers too.
Any questions, then drop me an e-mail.

Are you keeping the fogs underneath.
I didnt bother fitting the fogs myself and made a metal bracket that bolted to one of the old foglight mounts, I bent it so that it rested on the reverse face of the cover in the rough place where the STI's have their lower bolt hole mounting.
Then I just drilled a hole in the roughly same place as the STI originals and stuck a stainless self tapper in.
People actually think they are originals
