I have just had a quote from a local body shop for some paint work. They did my rear spoiler when I first bought it and was very pleased. The b/shop is BMW and Lotus approved. Wasn't quite expecting the quote to be so high though.
The requirements: -
Bonnet - as it is badly stone chipped.
Front bumper - as it is badly stone chipped, and I rubbed it up a wall. Doh!
Colour code side skirts.
Colour code rear thingies, (spats/splitters?).
The cost:-
Q1. For everything. 22hrs @ £27ph and £130 for paint and materials. Total £751.
Q2. For the bumper and colour coding, 12hrs @ £27 and £90 for paint and materials. Total £414.
I know they will do a great job as I have seen their work, and my spoileer is great. It is a lot of money though. Do you think this is a reasonable quote or should I look elsewhere?
Cheers
Matt

I had an even more extreme quote for similar work on mine. The thing is this is what they can get for insurance work. I have just had a quote over the phone from a company who are supposed to be Jap specialists, they will do an exterior respray for £750, just waiting for the price for Colour coding and an aluminium finish for the interior.

was quoted £350 for the bumper, splitter, grill, bonnet and wings to be blown in by a local bodshop. Quite a good price considering the BMW dealership that STILL havent sorted out the rear end wanted £ jsut for the bumper (only been going on since oct last year)
