I used some paint my local body shop gave me when they did my spoiler which was left over and tried painting the wedges on the front of the car, my Dad was adament that they'd look fine if I used a brush, man was that wrong.

Anyone know if i'll beable to recover them or bin them and start again with a fresh set, this time using spray!??

How does one paint things and get a smooth finish without a spray?

I wish I'd not started now, not really my thing as you can tell!

Paint stripper. or lots & lots & lots of sanding.

I just gave mine a light sanding with some very fine wet 'n dry, then got some colour matched paint in a can from Halfords. Cost me £5.99 and I just sprayed them with about 5 or 6 light coats.

I never bothered lacquering them. If the paint chips, I'll just redo them. They lasted 8mths with no probs.

Moral is don't take painting tips from your old man Paint brushes are for walls, doors and other home DIY and should be kept well clear of a motor.

Do a 10 minute Hammerite job. No sanding, just a quick clean.
This is what i did to mine and they look just fine.

@ozzy, funnily enough I was sure that it was a bad idea, dunno why I bothered.

I've stuck them in the car and since they are low down and well back in the bumper they look great, of course, if you bend down they look awful!
