Covering over touch up pens/stonechips?
#1
I am a realitive newbie to scooby ownership, and have not encounterd paint that chips as easy was this before. I got a touch up pen from the local Subaru garage to the correct paint code, but the paint is a lot darker than that on the car, so any touch ups look really obvious. The car looks like it has a bad case of chicken pox and has been treated with dark blue calimine lotion.
So how do I get rid of the chips, and is there any way to tone down the touch up paint.
I have tried Auto glym paint renovator, but this seams to take ALOT of hard work and leaves really fine scratch lines in the paint? It does help tone the touch up paint down, but looks like it removes a layer of standard paint with it.
It is a Reddish blue MY98 if that helps.

Some of the guys from the Lexus owners club (My previous car) used this company www.chipsaway.co.uk very good reports as well, They also sort out scratches and dents. You will have to check regional availability though.
