I've decided to have some pimp tints fitted to my RB5 WR, and have a brochure here. The manufactuer is Silhouette and there are a number of different tint options available. Not sure what type to go for.

If I have really dark back and rear side windows (say 5% or 15%) are there any dis-advantages ? (i.e. Reversing in the dark)

I think I've decided to have the fronts done 35% or 45%.

Has anyone got any picture so I can see what it looks like ?

Cheers Phill C

PS Watch this space as I will post the results and the guy has agreed to do a group buy if your interested

Not sure what %age I have had on mine but make sure you get the "legal" maximum on the front driver and passenger windows because you don't want too much attention from the Fuzz and it could pose problems come MOT time. There is a legal max for these windows but the tinters should be able to advise.

Regarding the level of tint and difficulties, with mine I've found you don't really notice it when you are in the car.

Oh right, I didn't realise they could be an MOT failure mate. Didn't even consider it. Anyway, a good mate is a tester, so I'll go and have a word with him.

Any pictures ?

No I'm not letting that **** do it mate!!! Been waiting for about 3 months now, and got pissed off with waiting!! Steve knows another bloke, and he's doing it very cheap for me He wants to use my car on his website and brochure.

I suppose you'll be getting yours done now then

This level of tint (for the fronts) was the legal maximum and the other windows were the next %increase from that. I cannot for the life of me remember what %age it was though! Gives you an idea of how dark it is though even with that level of tint.

Hope it helps?????

I have 20% all round on mine. Reversing can be harder than it should be but not really a problem.

With 5% you won't be able to see much of anything in the dark.

Well this is the laugh. I went to three MOT places and although they say there is a limit, none of them can be specific on percentages ???

I'll try the coppers next

Let us know

I quite fancy pimp tints on my silver wagon

Just a thought: I think Dr Clifford, regularly seen in the security forum, might know this? (No recommendation, no connection - just think he may be able to help)

chiark,

Ok mate I'll let you know when I find out.

A mate of mine reckons he can do other recommended mates Scoobies for £200, but I'm a bit wary about posting that in light of the other thread that's going on

The legal maximum on the front driver/pasenger windows is indeed 35%. I believe anything goes for the rear/pasenger windows.

The smartest tints seen were some matching front tints done on Trousers 22b at TSL. I looked for the edges etc but they were neat.

They can also do the rear window without joins which apparantly is a feat in itself. Try asking paul at TSL wher he got his done or use the TSL website to contact him.
I think its
