Question

Expecting mine to turn up any day now and want to know the technique for fitting them. Probably real easy but Id rather check now than have probs when I try and fit them.

For an MY00 if it makes any diff.

Simon.

Exclamation

Slide the existing unit towards the front of the car and the edge nearest the door pillar should pop out.

Pull towards you (gently) and change the covers - a good tip is to check the lights work before you pop them back in.

Quite straightforward (he says!) - be careful not to scratch your paintwork.

Then wait two weeks before some lowlife reverse's the process
and nick them.

I'm not bitter.

I bought them second hand off scoobynet. Original bulbs (on my car) were clear so had to pop down Halfords and get some orange bulbs for £2.99 a pair.

James,
There is also a company called ESP design, they also supply the silver bulbs that have been mentioned, They are pricey, but they do them for the side repeaters, and front and rear lights,(but only if you have clear front and rear lights obviously hehe)
www.espdesign.co.uk
Give them a try!

If you are wanting silver side repeater bulbs, give Muppet Paster a shout. He works for a company called Volk Bits. They are about £4 each + p&p.

Watch out they don't start to fill up with condensation. Mine did but was told to dry them out then put a thin smear of grease round the collar on the bulb socket before fitting. Works a treat

ours were from TSL - if you're gonna do the front indicators, make sure you get the right kind of pins as they can be opposite or offset on a my00 classic

Helpful is good I totally agree, if you do one then the other is a must. I had the pin problem vith Philips Silver Vision. I filed the odd one down and all was well, as they are quite a snug fit anyway
