Hello,

The WRC-front bumper that's shown on the site, will it fit a MY99 Impreza GT Turbo?

The reason I'm asking is, that I also informed at Rallytech and they told me that a WRC-bumper wont fit a street car because to measurements.

I'm looking for a WRC-bumper and would also like to no, if the grill is fitted (upstanding parts on top of bumper)on the bumper of a seperate grill is needed. Can someone explain.
I'm looking for the following bumper:

Does anyone know how the lip looks in reallife?

With regards,

Hans

No, the grill at the top (AVIS) is not a 22B, it just has the WRC front bumper.

Yes indeed, it is quite expensive......but I haven't seen any other company making one that has such a large intake surface.

It is nice indeed but these guys are in Japan and I doubt they will send anything out of Japan.
I even doubt they understand your email, except you can read & write Japanese (like me).
Anyway, let us know if they replied and agree to ship, maybe other people here are also interested....

Sounds perfect, not that I wanted to worry you but AFAIK Japanese companies rarely ship outside of the country.

Well, looks like you're gonna have it before me, please post pics when you've installed it and let us know if it was not too difficult to install it.

Thanks,
Ramon

Ramon,

Weird, I've ordered parts from HRC (Honda's racing arm of motorcycling) for an old bike of mine (Honda RC30), ordered direct from Japan and they exported with no problem.

Also know of others who have ordered bits from Taka Kaira (Sp?) with no problem, so fingers crossed that Avis will do the same!

I havent ordered yet, I sent them back an email yesterday so they can confirm if they will ship to the UK (Only cos you've worried me lol) and how much they will charge, I like the one with STI on it, looks choice, failing that i'll get the plain one

Good thing if they send abroad, all I meant to say is that most Japanese companies probably don't send abroad...

Concerning the STI lettering I think it's a sticker that has an additional cost. That means the front grill is always the same you can either buy it plain or with the sticker for more.

As for me I'm gonna take care of shipping myself.....I will go to Japan in 2 weeks and will bring it by myself.

Unhappy

Not at that price m8, its only a MY99+ grille with a mesh insert by the looks of things, I'll probably make my own up instead once I get hold of a MY99 Grille to butcher!

I saw the grille in other magazines (japanese Impreza magazine for example), no way it's ''just'' a MY99 grill.

The Avis one is much more open than a MY99 grill.....Anyway I'm gonna get one, keep your eyes open for pics when it's installed.

Alberick,

When do you get yours fitted?
Does it fit a MY99 GT Turbo?
And what's delivered with the bumper?

Do you have pictures for me?
Please post them here or if you would like to mail them: subaru@zonnet.nl

Regards,

Hans

Hans,

I will probably buy one when I go to Japan in 2 weeks for about 1 month.
I will only buy the front grille, not the whole bumper. I know that the bumper as well as the grille fits a MY99, but I don't know what is delivered with the bumper.....
I know that on the pic it looks like as the grille is 1 piece with the bumper but it isn't, as you can see on the AVIS site, the grille is a separate piece and fits all version 5 or 6 WRX's which equals to MY 99-00 in Europe.

I will post pictures in the Gallery next year when I have it fitted. (the grille that is)

Alberick,

Also with the photo's (links) I posted above?

Because when I take a look at it, it really seems that there are 2 upstanding parts on top of the bumper.

Is a seperate grill needed, so that the emblem is also fitted?

Overhere is a real seperate WRC-bumper, where you can see the upstanding parts:

Hans

Hans,

I don't know for the bumper, I just know the AVIS grille and that does fit a MY99.....

I didn't have a closer look at the AVIS bumper yet.
