Cheers Rob. However, I understand that there was only one silver paint option available to buy, but the actual paint code varies depending on the year. i.e. older silver cars are 406 while newer ones are 7-something.

Noticed an STI 4 Spoiler for sale in silver and wondered if it was the same color as my MY95 - hence no need to repaint.

Late 1998 - the registration number kind of gives it away

Sold my STI4 spoiler to a 97WRX owner friend. The colour was an exact match.

Even if it aint, would anyone else notice?

After all, the spoiler was probably painted in a separate workshop to the car originally anyway!

Hiya.. as far as I have been told.. to discover what paint code your car is... all you have to do is look at the info plaque under the bonnet!

I am assuming this is standard for all scooby's.. I could be wrong though, as I haven't lifted the bonnet of ours since I learnt this strange fact today!

Please post if I have been told porky's as I will have some serious revenge to cook up before work tomorrow!

Vix - that's true - but it doesn't help you if you want to buy a spoiler advertised as STI4 silver even you know you have a 406 silver car which was what this thread was all about !

Will,

There is a plate on the passengers side at the back of the engine bay which has the colour code of your car on it. If you want the splitter sprayed, just tell them that it's Subaru colour xxx and they'll be able to mix it.
