mine are colour-coded but the paint seems to be coming off and was thinking of putting some carbon film or aluminium-look film on them. has any1 done this?

Did you have 'em colour coded? If so, the person who did it didn't use the correct primer IMHO. Take 'em off, and get 'em done properly.

Not had a problem with mine (touch wood...) so I'd have to agree with alcazar about the priming. A couple of door handles on mine have gone the same way due to bad priming.
